What we won't do because it is illegal or just plain wrong.

Pretexting- This is when an investigator pretends to be someone else to get information such as bank information, phone records and other restricted information. This is absolutely illegal and there is no gray area at all here. It can not be legally done and if an investigator offers to do it for you, run, don't walk away. You, as well as the investigator can very easily  be held responsible for the penalties involved. Some will do it by stating that it is for informational purposes or "not for use in court". The bottom line is that it is ILLEGAL!

Tap the phone- This falls under Federal and State Wiretap laws and is illegal. We will not be a part of this and you shouldn't either. Recording these conversations can run into problems for you and the investigator.

Keystroke Loggers- While in some places, you are allowed to install these on a computer that your employees use and/or you are allowed to install them on a home computer that you own, we do not take part in this. Personally, I feel that it should be a parents right to know what their children are up to online, or it should be an employers right to know what employers are doing using a company computer and internet connection, laws can frown on this activity. Check with an attorney or local law enforcement before you go this route, just to be on the safe side.

Take advantage of a client- We have a lot of clients that do not have deep pockets. They may be able to pay for a few hours of investigation here and there but to pay for 8-12 hours a day or more is out of reach. We will make it real clear to these clients that we will do our best to help them but
it is usually a "shot in the dark". We will work with each client to try to get the best timeframe and locations for success, but we can't guarantee the results.  When we work a case, we will access the situation and if the results that we all desire are going to be very difficult to obtain due to logistics or other problems, we will immediately let the client know. At that point, we game plan with the client to come up with the best strategy or they can call the investigation off.

Charge a client without consent- When a client pays for our services, they pay a retainer up front. We explain to them that we will work the hours up to the retainer amount and report back to them as they desire. It is up to the client to decide if they want to continue or not. We take payments via credit card or Paypal, using Paypal's services. It is secure and we do not have access to the clients personal information and we do not take credit card information over the phone. The client controls the cost.

Take a case without explaining that the client can do it themselves- We have had clients that contact us to get a name of someone based on a phone number. We explain hat they may be able to get that information for free using a reserve lookup service online. There are other things that we let the client know that they can easily do or look into to save themselves money.

Overcharge for database information- We do have access to records that are available to licensed, certified investigators that we use on a regular basis on our cases. The information gleaned from these reports is typically very in depth. For a full public record database check the cost is $ 69.95. That includes sending the report to the client via email. To charge $ 150.00 or more for this is in our opinion...just plain wrong. You can check our background check investigation information site here.

Finding someone under unknown or false pretenseWe can find or locate a lot of people using the investigator databases. We do not however, just send the information to someone because they paid us to do it. If we have client that claims to trying to find an old friend or classmate, we take the information and if we can locate the other party, we contact them to make sure that it is ok for our client to contact them. Then, and only then is the information given to the client. If you have a problem with this, please don't contact us. You are probably honest and just looking for someone for legitimate reasons, but stalkers and murderers have searched and found victims by using other services where all the investigator wanted was the money.

Expose you or your case without permission- Under Florida law, your private investigation is confidential and what you do with the information is up to you. We do not divulge any information on your case other than what you want divulged. If other words, we keep your private investigations completely private.
